History of Lepki Family


The source of Lepki family is Lviv's Oblast (sort of province). Drohobych is a city in Western
Ukraine and arround the city are few villages where Lepki family dominate in population. One of them
is called Lytina. It is not known how far back it goes but it must be few hundred years ago based on
such population.


Drohobych city, with population of 80,000 in Lviv region, Western Ukraine. An old Ukrainian
settlement, Drohobych belonged to Kievan Rus until the 14th century, when it passed to Poland. It
was taken by Austria in 1772 but reverted to Poland in 1919; in 1939 it was returned back to Ukraine.


Probably one of the most known Lepki individuals is Lepki Bohdan (1872-1941) - a Ukrainian writer who
published over 80 books in Ukrainian language.
